The purpose of this position is to direct the metal recycling operation at the Gaffney Recycling Yard and to monitor and improve customer service within the region (an approximate 200 mile radius of Gaffney).
Job responsibilities include:

Plan and direct the logistics of material in/out of the yard in a manner that minimizes cost while meeting customer delivery requirements. This includes planning/direction of plant material handlers, 3rd party trucking companies, and railroad service providers.

Improve customer service. Visit customer/supplier sites as necessary to investigate performance problems and/or develop and implement CI.

Ensure the operation meets all environmental and safety standards and regulations. This includes oversight of the radiation detection equipment and process and procedures to ensure no contaminated material enters the yard.

Assist Sales Manager in the development of business proposals to prospective customers in the region.

Assure the data integrity of the scrap management system.

Develop and implement inventory management practices and procedures that maximize inventory value and accurately track the quantity and type. Institute scrap segregation practices as necessary to maximize value of individual materials.

Operates material handling equipment as necessary (when plant material handlers are not available to move recycled metals as required).
Required:

High school diploma or equivalent with at least 2 years of manufacturing experience OR

Bachelor''s degree
Preferred:

Manufacturing experience.

Knowledge of recycled metal business.

Organization: Steel Supply Chain & TSB MetalEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
