The PHE Supervisor will direct all PHE Manufacturing activities with objectives to promote, maintain and continually improve employee relations, employee safety, protection of facility assets, product quality, on-time delivery of products, operating costs and the development and implementation of new products and processes.
The ideal candidate is a fast learner with the ability to work with minimal supervision and cooperate in a team environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Overseeing Production Processes:
Supervising the production process, ensuring it runs smoothly and efficiently, and meets the set targets and deadlines.
Quality Control:
Ensuring the quality of the products meets both internal standards and customer expectations.
Implementing quality control checks and addressing any quality issues that arise.
Staff Management:
Managing the production team, which includes hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluating the performance of staff members.
Safety Compliance:
Ensuring that all safety and health standards are met in the production area to protect employees and equipment.
Conducting regular safety inspections and training employees on safety protocols.
Problem-Solving:
Identifying and resolving issues in the production process, which could include equipment malfunction, supply chain issues, or staffing challenges.
Process Improvement:
Continuously seeking ways to improve production efficiency and reduce costs.
This may involve implementing new technologies, optimizing workflows, or finding new ways to reduce waste.
Inventory Management:
Monitoring inventory levels and ensuring that materials and equipment are available as needed.
This can involve coordinating with suppliers and managing procurement processes.
Reporting:
Keeping accurate records and producing reports on production metrics, such as output, quality and On Time Delivery Communication and Collaboration:
Maintaining clear communication with team members and other departments to ensure coordination and efficient operation.
This includes addressing any grievances or conflicts that may arise.
Training and Development:
Providing training and development opportunities for staff, helping them to improve their skills and grow professionally.
Adherence to Regulations and Standards:
Ensuring that production processes comply with relevant industry regulations, standards, and legal requirements COMPETENCY & POSITION REQUIREMENTS Technical Knowledge:
Understanding the design, operation, and manufacturing processes specific to plate heat exchangers is essential.
Quality Control:
Ensuring the highest quality standards for PHEs and adherence to relevant industry standards and codes.
Material Knowledge:
Familiarity with the materials used in PHEs, such as different types of plates and gaskets.
Blueprint Reading:
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications for PHEs.
Troubleshooting:
Identifying and resolving production issues related to PHE manufacturing.
Safety Protocols:
Implementing and enforcing safety procedures to prevent accidents during production.
Team Leadership:
Effectively leading a team of production workers.
Testing and Inspection:
Overseeing testing procedures, such as pressure testing and leak detection, to ensure product integrity.
Process Improvement:
Identifying opportunities for process optimization and cost reduction.
Communication:
Effective communication with engineering teams, management, and other departments to coordinate production activities.
Documentation:
Maintaining accurate records of production data, quality control reports, and inventory levels.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensuring compliance with industry-specific regulations and standards, such as ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) codes for pressure vessels.
Training and Development:
Providing training to production staff on PHE manufacturing techniques and safety protocols.
Computer Skills:
Proficiency in using software for production planning, quality control, and inventory management.
Problem-Solving:
Ability to address technical challenges and make decisions that impact the production process.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Associate's Degree or Technical Diploma:
