Summary:
The Store Manager must be highly energetic, friendly and seek to find innovative ways to manage and improve the thrift store.
The Store Manager will be committed to creating a professional, yet loving atmosphere and will desire to instruct and serve alongside staff and volunteers.
The Store Manager shall report to Director of Thrift Stores.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
To manage and oversee the general operation and success of the Carol's Hope Thrift Store located in Spartanburg, SC, including receiving and processing donations, as well as displaying merchandise Supervise staff and volunteers; monitor work performance and provide ongoing feedback to improve productivity and employee job satisfaction.
Provide inspirational leadership to staff and volunteers, setting operational performance Oversee the processing of donated items; manage the rotation of items and the disposal of donated items in a timely fashion.
Processes include:
sorting, hanging, tagging, steaming, displaying and disposing of donated items.
Coordinate, schedule and manage donation deliveries and pickups Coordinate and manage staff, volunteers and their schedules Oversee backdoor issues such as donations that were left and the upkeep of the dumpster and volunteers/work program participants in thrift store duties Operate a cash register, reconcile cash with sales receipts, and keep record of transactions Uphold the cash handling policy and properly execute the procedures Be responsible for the positive image of the thrift store and promoting its purpose Meet customer needs with a smiling face and always make our customers know that they are important and special to us.
Handle all customer questions and concerns Deal with performance concerns promptly, directly, fairly, and respectfully while maintaining a solutions based focus Maintain confidentiality regarding all personnel matters Identify maintenance problems at the store and communicate needs to Director of Operations and/or the to ensure a safe, pleasant, and clean working environment for staff, volunteers, and customers Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Thrift Stores
